Yusuke Asai Creates Enveloping Illustration in Tokyo

Japanese artist Yusuke Asai is always finding unique ways to involve and engage his viewers. We told you previously about his elaborate mud-based mural; this time he’s cleaned it up a bit with a piece he calls “Creating Here.”

Suspended in space in the Arataniurano Gallery in Tokyo, Asai’s piece is a fine display of the artist’s talent for illustration.  A menagerie of creatures and twirling, flowing plant life envelope the viewer in a beautiful, inviting manner.

The installation flows from wall to center and center to floor as if it were a spider web, though this is one most viewers would be more than happy to be caught up in. Throughout, he maintains a constant theme of curiosity and growth through his use of blue flora and creatures of fantasy.

Creating Here is available for viewing now through December 20th, 2014 at the Arataniurano Gallery in Tokyo. View their website for more information.
