Ever Paints Mural in Mexico for 43 Murdered Students

Street artist Ever has just completed a new mural in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico for the Color Walk Project, with a subject of monumental importance.

The work is entitled “The Idealism Trying To Save The Future On The Night Of September 26, 2014,” a reference to the 43 students who disappeared months ago in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico. The students from Raúl Isidro Burgos Rural Teachers’ College of Ayotzinapa had traveled there that day to protest against discriminatory hiring and funding practices by the government of Mexico.

Weeks later a mass grave was discovered which contained evidence the students had been tortured and in some cases, burned alive. The mayor of the area’s wife is the sister of known members of the Beltrán-Leyva Cartel. He and his wife would flee as fugitives before both surrendered earlier this month on November 4th.
