‘Situation Room’ Installation Engulfs Its Viewers

Olso-based artist Jana Winderen and architect Marc Fornes of TheVeryMany recently exhibited their installation, “Situation Room,” at New York’s Storefront for Art and Architecture.

Using twenty flowing, curving spheres, the installation invites you in, engulfing you in a way which completely overwhelms all those who experience it. It is a never-ending play on our spatial senses, with the walls closing in then expanding out and chambers basking you in light then shadowing you in darkness.

The complex series of spheres questions the way we divide yet unify through our societies. View more on this installation below.
