Architect Hiroshi Nakamura‘s Ribbon Chapel, located on the grounds of a luxury Japanese resort, perfectly illustrates its purpose of joining two people as one, using not only its structure but also via its unique interaction with the nature which surrounds it.
The most striking architectural feature also gives the building its name, with dual stairways spiraling the building before meeting as one. At the top, amazing photographic opportunities await the new couple, with the chapel positioned above the surrounding tree line to afford expansive views of the nearby coastline. Inside, the couple and their guests are bathed in sunlight by a skylight as well as glass windows which wrap the building.
