These Cute Pun Illustrations Will Turn Your Frown Upside Down

Feeling stressed out over all the work you have to do and generally just having a bad day? Then take a break and look at these delightful pun illustrations made by Lim Heng Swee, an artist from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

A lot of his work has already been featured in well-known publications such as Reader’s Digest and La Monde, and a handful of his designs have also been featured on t-shirts and have been used by popular brands such as Nike and Gap.

Lim Heng Swee’s motto, which is “doodle a smile”, can evidently be seen in his works—and yes, we’re definitely thankful for it.

Illustrations Empower Women to Fight Gender Prejudice

The voices for equal rights for women have perhaps never been louder. Celebrities lead the fight for equal pay. A young Pakistani woman wins the Nobel Peace Prize for fighting for her right to be educated. Hoping to contribute, Brazilian artist Carol Rossetti has created a series of illustrations which empower women to fight gender prejudice.

Carol’s series, Women, takes on many of the struggles women face around the world every day. From those persecuted for their sexual orientation to how a woman chooses to dress or lead her life, she hopes to give every woman’s fight a voice.

Carol has been creating her illustrations empowering women since May of this year, with translations to English from Portuguese being provided by a helpful translator. We’ve selected some of her more popular illustrations for viewing below, to keep up with her newest work and the fight visit her blog or Facebook page.

Artist Marina Papi Adds Her Own Imaginative Illustrations to Photos

Brazilian graphic designer Marina Papi adds her own imaginative illustrations to beautiful photos, most of which deal with the aquatic world. Her attempt to “write poetry without words,” the works take us to a dreamland where anything seems possible.

The surreal worlds created by Papi imagine a place where we are whisked about by larger than life birds and swim with mermaids. The fantastic planets and stars in our sky are so close that we can reach up and touch them.

Some of our favorites of Papi’s photo illustrations appear below, to see more visit her on Instagram.
