Insects Close Up: You’ll Be Shocked At How Beautiful You Find These Pictures

Insects are to put it mildly, not exactly at the top of the list when one is compiling a list of the earth’s favorite creatures. They lack the dependability of dogs, the cunning of a cat, the…well, really any redeeming quality. We mostly tolerate them as a necessary evil of life. They exist to do the dirty work for us. To clean up the disgusting things we’d rather not think about, or on a more positive note to pollinate our flowers so we have something pretty to look at. These pictures by Swedish photographer John Hallmen are about to change your mind. After viewing his exquisitely done up close insect pictures, you’ll be surprised at just how beautiful they really are. The talent of John is really quite immense, in each picture he perfectly captures the insect subject in just the right pose, with the light and colors practically leaping off the screen. I think it’s safe to say we’ll all be looking at earth’s “disgusting” creatures in a different way from this point on.
